Forms of Holding marks the first solo presentation of TANGTSUNGCHIEN, presented at Pitti Uomo 109, Florence, Italy.

The collection explores how clothing can hold — not only the body, but also emotion, memory, and lived experience. Emerging from a period of inward return, Forms of Holding reflects on the idea of being supported rather than enduring.

Rooted in menswear construction, the collection proposes softer structures that move away from rigid notions of armor. Through layering, folding, and repetition, silhouettes are built as quiet architectures that respond sensitively to the body. In stillness, garments appear structured and contained; in motion, they loosen and reorganize, revealing the weight, drape, and permeability of the materials.

Construction takes precedence over decoration. Modular components foreground the act of assembling and holding together, allowing the process of making to remain visible. Garments are conceived as structures designed to be adjusted, worn, and lived in over time.

The collection brings together wool, lace, and knit textiles, emphasizing tactile surfaces and material density. A restrained color palette reinforces the collection’s understated tension and emotional clarity.

With Forms of Holding, TANGTSUNGCHIEN approaches clothing as a vessel of support — positioned between body and environment, protection and exposure — offering a quiet yet resonant proposition within contemporary menswear.
